_______ WITH CONTROL LEVER POSITION WHEN ALTERNATE CONTROL IS DISARMED. MAKE SURE THAT ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE OUT OF THE PATH OF THE FLAPS.

Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to disarm alternate control.
I.
Adjust the Aftflaps S 864-019
(1)
Pressurize hydraulic system No. 1 (Ref 29-11-00/201).
S 714-034 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
(2) Move the flaps slowly.
NOTE: Make sure the flap components move freely.

Retract the flaps.

Make sure the aftflap and midflap are adjusted.
NOTE: The flaps must be in the full up position.

(b) Make sure that the clearance between the midflap trailing edge and the aftflap top surface at the supports is 0.10-0.15 inch (0.25-0.38 cm). 1) Add or remove aluminum shims to adjust the clearance.
NOTE:____ Use straight shims at the support struts. tapered shims at the end ribs. Use
2) If you adjusted the clearance, make sure the screws do not touch the aftflap.
(5) S 714-022Make sure that the aftflap moves smoothly.
(6) S 644-023Lubricate the aftflap (Ref 12-21-20/301).
(7) S 864-024Release the pressure in hydraulic system No. 1 (Ref 29-11-00/201).
(8) S 864-025Disconnect electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

INBOARD AFTFLAP - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. There is one task in this procedure; An inspection of the inboard aftflap.
B. In this procedure you measure the inner and outer diameter of the parts which connect the aftflap support arm and spindle. The parts include bushings, pins, bearings, spindles, and bolts. You also examine the axial play in the bushings and bearings.
C. To do the check, you must remove the aftflap from the airplane. The spindle also must be removed from the aftflap. The check is usually done before the aftflap installation.
