 (1) Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)  
Do this task to pressurize the hydraulic systems No. 2 and No. 3: "Supply Hydraulic Power" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (3)  
Open the access door 312A (AMM 06-09-05/201).

 (4)  
Do this test of the lip seal:

 (a)  
Operate the stabilizer 10 to 15 seconds in two directions.

 (b)  
Set the stabilizer to the neutral rig position (three units of trim).

 (c)  
Examine around the lip seal housing for a hydraulic leak.

 (5)  If the hydraulic power is not necessary, do this task: "Remove Hydraulic Power" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 HORIZONTAL STABILIZER BODY SEAL DOOR - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has six tasks. There is one task each for the removal and the installation of the horizontal stabilizer body seal doors (which is referred to as the "body seal door") and the door mechanism. There is also one task for the adjustment of the door mechanism and one task for the operational test of the body seal door. The procedure has these parts:
 (1)
The removal of the body seal doors

 (2)
The installation of the replacement doors

 (3)
The removal of the door mechanism

 (4)
The installation of the replacement door mechanism

 (5)
The adjustment of the door mechanism

 (6)
The operational test of the body seal door.

 B.  
The removal and installation procedures of the body seal doors and their mechanism are the same for the upper and lower seal doors. The upper seal doors are not on all airplanes (See Fig. 202 for effectivity).

 C.  
It is necessary to install an air blower to supply adequate fresh air to the stabilizer box during maintenance.
