Install the Inboard Foreflap (Fig. 401).

If used parts are to be installed, make sure there are no worn parts (AMM 27-51-02/601).

Install the necessary support equipment.
(a)
Install the strongback on the inboard foreflap.
(b)
Do these steps to attach the spreader bar and the load positioner to the strongback assembly (Fig./402). 1) Follow the instructions on the instruction plate on the
spreader bar to put the adjust-a-leg sling into the correct position (Fig. 402).

2) Move the counter weight to make the spreader bar level. 3) Attach the load positioner and the spreader bar to the strongbacks.

Install the inboard foreflap.
(a)
Put the foreflap (1) in a position such that the three midflap tracks can be attached to the foreflap levers (2) (Fig. 401).
(b)
Install each of three midflap tracks on the foreflap.
1) Remove the support from the midflap track.
2) Align the midflap track and foreflap lever.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE FOREFLAP CARRIAGE AND TOGGLE IS LOCKED
_______ IN THE TRACK DETENT. THE FLAP COMPONENTS CAN BE DAMAGED.
3) Install the bolt (5), washer (6), washers (4) and the nut (3). 4) Tighten the nut (3) to 290-410 pound-inches (32.8-46.3 N-m). 5) Install the cotter pin.
(c) Attach the foreflap to the carriage and toggles.
1) Install the inner clamp-up washers (13) and bushings (7) on the flap track carriage and toggles.
NOTE: Install the longer bushing in the outer track.

2) Align the flap track carriage and toggles with the fittings on the foreflap (1).
CAUTION:_______INSTALL THE PARTS AS SHOWN IN SECTION B-B. DAMAGE TO THE FLAPS DURING FLIGHT CAN OCCUR.
3) Install the bolt (9), washer (8), outer clamp-up washer (10), washer (12), and the nut (11). 4) Tighten the nut (11) to 1300-1500 pound-inches (147-169 N-m). 5) Install the cotter pin.

(4) Remove the strongback, spreader bar and the load positioner from the foreflap (Fig. 402).
