(1)
Remove the safety strap (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the bolt and the nut.
(b)
Remove the inner and the outer parts of the safety strap.
(c)
Remove the hook.

Disconnect the tension tie from the link:
(a)
Remove the bolt, washers, bushing, and nut.
(b)
Move the link away from the tension tie.

CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE THAT THE FLAP TRACK DOES NOT TURN. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PIN.
(3)
Remove the flap track:
(a)
Remove the four bolts, nuts, washers, and the ring springs.
(b)
Use the spanner wrench adapters to remove the fuse bolt, lock washer, washers, and fuse bolt nut from the flap track.
(c)
Disengage the pin from the bearing.
(d)
Lower the flap track from the airplane.

(4) Remove the bearing from the track.

E. Procedure
S 214-022
(1)
Examine the parts which attach the inboard flap inboard track for worn areas (AMM 27-51-22/601).

(2)
Install the foreflap carriage stop, if it is necessary.
(a)
Apply a layer of sealant to the flap track and the stop.
(b)
Put the stop in its position on the flap track.
(c)
Apply a layer of sealant to the threads, shank and head of the bolts.
(d)
Install the bolts, washers and the nuts.
(e)
Tighten the bolts to 510-650 pound-inches.
(f)
Stop for a minimum of 20 minutes, then tighten the bolts to 510-650 pound-inches (58-73 N-m).
(g)
Apply a layer of sealant to the bolt heads.

Install the bearing in the flap track.

(4)
Install the flap track:
(a)
Apply a layer of BMS 3-33 grease between the surfaces of the flap track, bearing plate, and the wing structure.
(b)
Put the flap track into its position on the airplane. 1) Use the flap track sling to lift the flap track into its
