 cm) past the nut. 6) Repair the damage to the midflap cove panel. 7) Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the


 flaps.
 8)  Measure the clearance between the midflap cove panel and the aftflap at the supports.
 9)  Release the pressure in hydraulic systems No. 2, 3 and 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
Add or remove shims at the lower forward end of the support
 strut to adjust the clearance:
 1)  Loosen the nut on the bolt which goes through the top aft end of the support strut.
 2)  Remove the bolt through the lower forward end of the support strut.
 3)  Add or remove the shims.
 4)  Apply a thin layer of wet primer to the shims.
 5)  Install the shims, filler, concave and convex washers and the bolt.
 6)  Tighten the nut on the bolt through the top aft end of the
 support strut.After the adjustment, make sure that the screws are installed correctly and that they do not extend too far. If the screws extend, they can touch the aftflap and cause damage.

P6, MAIN POWER DISTRIBUTION PANEL
 1) 6F9, ASYM/FAIL TE FLAP
 2) 6E1, PRI TE FLAP CONT AC
 3) 6E2, PRI TE FLAP CONT DC

 (10) Pressurize hydraulic systems 2 and 3 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 CAUTION:_______MONITOR THE FLAP MOVEMENT CAREFULLY. THE FLAPS CAN BE DAMAGED BY INCORRECTLY ADJUSTED COMPONENTS.
 BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE FLAPS, MAKE SURE THAT THE HOOK ON THE GENEVA CAM MECHANISM IS IN THE RELEASED POSITION (DETAIL B, FIG. 502). THE FLAPS WILL BE DAMAGED IF YOU OPERATE THEM WITH THE HOOKS IN THE LATCHED POSITION.

 Operate the flaps slowly.

 (a)  
Make sure that the flaps move freely.

 (b)  
Make sure that the aerodynamic seals are engaged.

 Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent.

 Make sure that the angular clearance between the ball screw nut and the ball screw downstops is a minimum of 1/4 turn.
