WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.

Put the flap flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

Release the pressure in hydraulic systems No. 1 and No. 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Make sure that the landing gear ground locks are installed.

D. Remove the Flap Control Assembly (Fig. 401)

Remove the RVDT (14) from the flap control assembly (16) (AMM 27-58-01/401).

Remove the limit switch pack (15) from the flap control assembly (16)(AMM 27-51-18/401).

Remove the flap control assembly (16).
(a)
Remove the rod (1) from the feedback arm (9).
(b)
On the inboard flap control assembly (16), remove the feedback arm (9). 1) Remove the retainer nut (6) and the washer (7) from the
input crankshaft (2). 2) Loosen the clamp bolt (5). 3) Remove the feedback arm (9) from the crankshaft (2).
(c)
On the outboard flap control assembly (16), remove the retainer nut (6) and the washer (7) from the input crankshaft (2).
(d)
Remove the four bolts (13) which attach the flap control assembly (16) to the flap power unit (gearbox) (3).
CAUTION:_______HOLD THE INPUT CRANKSHAFT DURING THE REMOVAL. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE QUILL SHAFT AND BEARINGS.
(e)
Carefully remove the flap control assembly (16) from the airplane.
(f)
Remove the quill shaft (17).
(g)
Install a plug in the flap power unit (gearbox) (3).
