(b) Install two strongback parts on the foreflap (Fig. 402).
NOTE: There are 4 different part numbers for the strongbacks.
____ The correct part number is determined by the location where the strongback attaches to the foreflap. The attach holes will not align if a strongback is used in the incorrect location. The correct strongback locations are as follows:

(c) Do these steps to attach the spreader bar and the load positioner to the strongbacks (Fig. 402): 1) Follow the instructions on the instruction plate on the
spreader bar to put the adjust-a-leg sling into the correct
position. 2) Move the counter weight to make the spreader bar level. 3) Attach the load positioner and spreader bar to the
strongbacks.

Remove the outboard foreflap:
(a)
Remove the bolts (2), washers (3 and 5) and nuts (6) which attach the foreflap lever (7) to the four midflap tracks.
NOTE: While you remove the bolt from each track, remove the
____ bushing (4). Hold the track or it will fall into the midflap.
(b)
Remove the bolts (10), washers (9 and 11), and nuts (12) which attach the foreflap to the sequence carriage (Fig. 401).
(c)
Remove the bushings (8) from the sequence carriages.
(d)
Lift the foreflap from the airplane.
NOTE: Make sure that the foreflap is held tightly during the
____ removal. The foreflap weighs approximately 175 pounds (80 kg).

(3) Remove the support equipment from the foreflap if it is necessary.
