OUTBOARD AFTFLAP - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. There is one task in this procedure, an inspection/check of the outboard aftflap.
B. In this procedure you measure the inner and outer diameters of the parts which attach the aftflap. The parts include bushings, bearings, pins, and spindles.
C. To do the check, the aftflap must be removed from the midflap. Usually you do this check before you install the aftflap.

2. Outboard Aftflap Inspection (Fig. 601)___________________________
A. Standard Tools and Equipment
(1)
Micrometer - 0 to 1 inch (0 to 3 cm)
(2)
Micrometer - 1 to 2 inch (1 to 5 cm), To Measure Inner Dimensions
(3)
Micrometer - 1 to 2 inch (1 to 5 cm), To Measure Outer Dimensions
(4)
Vernier Caliper

(1)
Remove the outboard aftflap (Ref 27-51-06/401).
S 226-003
(2)
Examine the parts, which attach the aftflap, for worn areas:
(a)
Remove the parts.
(b)
Measure the parts.
NOTE: Use a micrometer or a vernier caliper.

(c)
Compare the dimensions you measured, with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 601.
(d)
Repair or replace the parts that are out of the tolerance.
(e)
Install the parts.
(3)
Install the outboard aftflap (Ref 27-51-06/401).
