 (a)  
Remove the parts.

 (b)  
Use a micrometer or a vernier caliper to measure the parts.

Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 601 or Fig. 602.

 (d)  
Replace the parts that are not in the tolerance.

 (e)  
Install the parts.
