Install the flap control lever:

 (a)  
Install the flap control lever (1) on the shaft.

 (b)  
Install the bearing (11) and bearing retainer (13).

 (c)  
Install the bolt (12).

 (d)  
Attach the rod (6) to the lever with the screw (2), bushing (4), washer (3) and nut (5).

Adjust the linkage:

 (a)  
Put the flap control lever in the 10-unit detent.

 (b)  
Put the rig pin through the transducer housing (9) and the crank (8). 1) If you cannot install the rig pin, loosen the two


 checknuts (7) on the rod assembly (6).

 1.  General

 A.  This procedure is an operational check of the flap control lever. This procedure is usually done after the installation of the flap control lever or the RVDT assembly.

 S 715-003
 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 (1)  
Do a test of the flap control lever:

 (a)  
Move the flap control lever forward and aft.


 NOTE: Make sure that the control lever moves freely.

 (b)  Measure the force necessary to lift the handle out of the detents.
 NOTE: The force must be less than 7 pounds (31 Newtons).
____
 (c)  Measure the force necessary to move the lever between detents.
 NOTE: Measure the force when you move the lever forward and
____ aft. The force must be 2 to 4 pounds (9 to 18 Newtons).
