FLAP POWER PACKAGE - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General
_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. The first task is an adjustment of a flap power package. The second task is a test of the flap power package.
B. This procedure is usually done after the installation of a flap power package, a flap control assembly, or a flap control module. The torque tubes will not be disconnected unless the flap power package procedure 27-51-09/401 is in work.

Prepare for the Adjustment

(1) Make sure that the landing gear ground locks are installed.
S 495-003
WARNING: CAREFULLY DO THE SPECIFIED TASK TO INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS ON
_______ THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

Install the door locks on the doors for the body landing gear (Ref 32-00-30/201).

Remove the access plates from the movable flap track fairings.

Adjust the Flap Power Package (Fig. 501)

Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

(2) Pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4 (Ref 29-11-00/201). S 865-041
WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP
CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL
MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP
CONTROL LEVER.

Put the flap control lever in the 10-unit detent, then put it in the UP detent.

Release the pressure in hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Remove the spring cover from the flap control assembly.

Put rig pin F-15 or F-16 through the control housing and the crank assembly.
