MEASURED IN THE HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL PLANES AN EXCEPTION IS THE IS THE FARTHEST OUTBOARD ANGLE GEARBOX WHERE THE VERTICAL MISALIGNMENT CAN BE DOWN ONLY. IF A GEARBOX OR IDLER IS SHIMMED TO CORRECT THE MISALIGNMENT, DECREASE THE ANGLE TO 0` |0.75`, OR THE DIM. TO 0.00 |0.024 INCH (0.00 |0.6 mm). THE METHOD OF MEASUREMENT IS OPTIONAL

(2) Remove the torque tube.
NOTE: Do not turn the flap drive system with the components
____ removed. It will be necessary to adjust the flap drive system.
(a)
Remove the screws which attach each spline coupling sleeve to the spline.
(b)
Move the sleeves of the torque tube splines to disconnect the torque tube.
(c)
Remove the torque tube.
NOTE: Install a tag on the torque tube with its location
____ (right or left, inboard or outboard) and with the airplane effectivity.

Examine the flap torque tube air sealer for worn areas or damage (Ref 27-51-20/601).

If the seal assembly has worn or damaged areas, replace the seal assembly (Fig. 402):
(a)
Remove the lockwire.
(b)
Remove the nut.
(c)
Remove the seal assembly.
(d)
Remove the four bolts.
(e)
Remove the housing.
