Install the Flap Control Module

(1)
Install the hydraulic fittings:
(a)
Remove the caps from the ports in the control module.
(b)
Lubricate the backup rings (11 and 24) and O-rings (10 and 23) with hydraulic fluid or the assembly lube.
(c)
Install the hydraulic fittings (9 and 22) in the control module.

(2) S 162-009Clean the surfaces of the control module and flap power package for an electrical bond (AMM 20-11-14/701).
(3) S 422-010Install the flap control module: (a) Carefully put the control module (7) on the flap power package. (b) Put the bracket (15) on the aft side of the control module (7). (c) Install three mounting bolts (12 and 19), washers (13 and 20) and the bushing (14) to attach the control module. (d) Remove the plugs from five hydraulic lines (8). (e) Make sure that the control module is full of hydraulic fluid. (f) Connect the hydraulic lines (8) to the control module (7).
CAUTION:_______ DO NOT LET THE PARTS FALL INTO THE GEARBOX. YOU MUST REMOVE THE FLAP POWER PACKAGE TO GET THE PARTS OUT.
(g) Attach the control valve stem (32) to the crank (34). 1) Fill the bushings (36) with grease. 2) Put a washer (37) and a bushing (36) on the bolt (35). 3) Install the bolt (35) through the valve stem (32) and crank (34). 4) Install the bushing (36) and washer (37). 5) Install the nut (38) on the bolt (35). 6) Tighten the nut (38). 7) Install a cotter pin (39).
(4) S 432-081Connect the electrical connectors (3) to the bypass valve (4). (a) DV138 (Inboard Flap By-Pass Valve) (b) DV139 (Outboard Flap By-Pass Valve)
(5) S 432-082Install the bonding jumper (2) between the bypass valve (4) and the flap lever and quadrant assembly.
(6) S 112-011Clean the surface of the joint with solvent.
