Measure the droop of each inboard midflap (Fig. 502):
NOTE: The droop is the vertical dimension between the midflap and
____ the inboard aileron lower surface measured at the center of the rear spar of the midflap.
(a)
The midflap must be 0.25 - 1.00 inch (0.64 - 2.54 cm) above the inboard aileron.
(b)
The difference in the droop between the left mid flap and the right mid flap must not be more than 0.25 inch (0.64 cm).
NOTE: You must keep this symmetry after the flaps, flap track
____ fairings, inboard ailerons and inboard spoilers are fully rigged.
S 835-095
(8)
If the dimensions you measured are not as given above, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Pressurize hydraulic system No. 1 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE
_______ AND TE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. MOVING THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER WITH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM PRESSURIZED WILL CAUSE THE FLAPS TO MOVE QUICKLY.
(b) Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent to extend the inboard flaps.

(c) Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system No. 1
"Hydraulic System Depressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(d) Remove the two access panels from the upper surface of the
midflap, above the two carriage fittings on each wing.
(e) If additional access is required, remove the inboard flap track
fairing (AMM 27-51-26/401).
(f) Remove the bolts, washers, nuts and retainers that hold the
carriage support bearings to the links (Fig. 503, View B).
NOTE: Remove the four bolts at the aft link support fitting on____
only one carriage at a time.
(g) Add shims between the carriage support bearing and midflap
frame flange up to a maximum thickness of 0.64 inch (1.63 cm).
If you increase the shim thickness 0.062 inch (0.16 cm) it will
lower the flap 0.16 inch (0.41 cm).
NOTE: Use the shims that were located between the nut and the____
midflap frame flange (Fig. 503, View B). If you
transfer the required shims up you will maintain the
correct grip length for the bolts.
(h) Apply BMS5-95 sealant to the bolts.
(i) Install the retainers, nuts, washers, and bolts that hold the
carriage support bearings to the links (Fig. 503, View B).
(j) Tighten the 3/8-inch bolts to 300-500 pound-inches (34-56 N-m).
(k) Supply hydraulic power to system No. 1 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(l) Retract the inboard flaps by placing the flap control lever in
the FLAP UP detent.
(m) Depressurize hydraulic system No. 1 "Hydraulic System
Depressurizaton" (AMM 29-11-00/201).
S 975-096
(9)
Measure the droop and symmetry again.
S 845-097
(10)
If the dimensions you measured do not agree with the tolerances given above, do the steps again to change the thickness of the shims.
S 415-098
(11)
Install the access panels you removed.
S 415-099
(12)
If you removed the inboard flap track fairing, install the fairing per (AMM 27-51-26/401).
S 865-100
(13)
Release the pressure in hydraulic system No. 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
