CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THAT THE FLAPS ARE FULLY RETRACTED BEFORE YOU
DISCONNECT THE RVDT. YOU CANNOT EASILY SET UP THE RVDT FOR
INSTALLATION IN THE TRANSMISSION IF IT IS REMOVED WITH FLAPS
EXTENDED.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the applicable RVDT (11) (AMM 27-58-01/401):
(a)
DM7889, Inboard Power Pack Transmitter
(b)
DM7892, Outboard Power Pack Transmitter

Disconnect the electrical connector from the applicable limit switch pack (12) (AMM 27-51-18/401):

Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the flap control module (7):
(a)
Disconnect the two hydraulic lines (10) from the power package (1).
(b)
Install plugs in the hydraulic lines (10) andcaps to prevent contamination in the open ports.

Install the support equipment to the flap power package:
(a)
Attach the fishpole hoist to the lift point on the wheel well bulkhead (Fig. 401).
(b)
Attach the hoisting adapter to the lift lugs on the power package (1)

Remove the flap power package:
(a)
Remove the three bolts (21).
NOTE:____ Manually hold the flap power package (1) in its position
while you remove the bolts. The power package will move
away from the bulkhead when you remove the bolts
(Fig. 401).
(b) Lower the flap power package (1) from the airplane.
(c) Remove the fishpole hoist and hoisting adapter.
(d) Remove the bushings (18 and 23) from the mounting lugs and
attach a tag to them.
(e) Remove the adapters (14) from the flap control module. Install
a cap in the open ports.
