Do a test of the operation time of the alternate trailing edge flaps.

Put the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch in the EXT position to extend the TE flaps.

 (b)  
Make sure that the inboard flaps extend to the 25-unit position and then stop.

 (c)  
Make sure that the outboard flaps extend to between 18 and 26 units and stop.

 (d)  
Make sure that the time for the flaps to extend is a maximum of 360 seconds.

 (e)  
Stop for 5 minutes to let the electric drive motors become cool.

 (f)  
Put the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch in the RET position to retract the flaps.

 (g)  
Make sure that the time for the flaps to retract is a maximum of 360 seconds.

 (h)  
Put the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch in the OFF position.


 WARNING: THE TRAILING EDGE FLAPS WILL MOVE TO AGREE WITH THE
_______ CONTROL LEVER POSITION WHEN ALTERNATE CONTROL IS DISARMED. MAKE SURE THAT ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE TE AND LE FLAPS.
 (i)  
Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to disarm the flaps alternate control.

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

 (1)
Put the flap control lever in the UP position to retract the flaps.

 1.  General_______
 A.  There is one task in this procedure: the replacement of the flap power package quill shaft.
 B.  The flap power package quill shaft connects the torque tube follow-up gear to the power control package control valve and flap position RVDT. There is a shear out point in the quill shaft.
