Remove the Body Seal Door

(1)
Remove the body seal door:
(a)
Remove the stabilizer blade seals.
(b)
Disconnect the bonding jumper.
(c)
Remove the bolt from the door fitting.
(d)
Remove the bolt from the link rod end.
(e)
Remove the bolts from the hinge fittings.
(f)
Remove the body seal door.

(2) Keep the door mechanism in the retracted position to prevent damage to the linkage.

(1) Do this task to make sure the body seal door and the attachment fittings are in the tolerances: "Horizontal Stabilizer Body Seal Door Inspection" (AMM 27-41-14/601).

Install the body seal doors:
(a)
Apply a thin layer of grease (BMS 3-33 or MIL-G-23827) to the bolts.
(b)
Set the door on the body hinge fittings.
(c)
Install the hinge fitting bolts, the washers, the nuts and the cotter pins.
(d)
Connect the door fitting and the link rod with the washers, the nut, and the cotter pin.
(e)
Tighten the bolt to 20-25 pound-inches (2.3-2.8 newton-meters).
1) If it is necessary to install the cotter pin, loosen the nut to the next slot.
(f)
Connect the bonding jumper.

Remove the hose and the air blower from the stabilizer section if it is not necessary.

Set the STAB TRIM 2 and 3 switches to ON.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7E7, STAB TRIM L S/O VLV
2) 7E20, STAB TRIM R S/O VLV
