(a)
On the outboard flaps, make sure that dimension X (Fig. 502), is 0.45 to 0.74 inch (1.14 to 1.88 cm).
(b)
On the inboard flaps, make sure that dimension X, is 0.54 to
0.90 inch (1.37 to 2.29 cm).
(c)
Turn the torque tubes with the manual drive tool to adjust dimension X if it is necessary.
(d)
Apply a thin layer of grease to the spline surfaces.
(e)
Align the torque tube with the spline coupling.
(f)
Engage the spline coupling sleeve with the splines.
(g)
Install the three screws to attach the spline coupling sleeve.
CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL LOCKWIRE ON THE COUPLING SCREWS. IF THE COUPLING SCREWS COME OFF, THE TORQUE TUBE COUPLING WILL DISCONNECT AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE.
(h)
Install the lockwire on the three screws.
(i)
Make sure that the torque tube guards are installed.

Remove electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Install the coverplate.
(a)
Apply a thin layer of grease to the gasket.
(b)
Put the coverplate in its position on the flap power package.
(c)
Attach the coverplate to the flap power package with 10 screws.

Install the button plug.
(a)
Push the plug into the mounting hole.
(b)
Clean the area around the edge of the cover with solvent.
(c)
Apply a bead of sealant around the edge of the plug.
(d)
Apply primer to the surface if it is necessary.
