Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6, Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6L20, TE FLAP ELEC CONT INBD
2) 6L19, TE FLAP ELEC CONT OTBD

Remove the Bypass Valve Motor

Disconnect the electrical connectors (3) from the valve motor (1).

DM622 (Alternate Outboard Flap Motor)

Remove the bypass valve motor:
(a)
Move the manual override lever (27) to position 2.
(b)
Remove the four screws (30) from the bypass valve motor (1).
(c)
Remove the bypass valve motor.
(d)
Keep a record of the part number and serial number of the removed motor.

(1)
Install the bypass valve motor:
(a)
Transfer the part number and serial number of the removed motor to the data plate of the new motor.
(b)
Make sure that the manual override lever (27) is at position 2.
(c)
Put the bypass valve motor (1) on the valve (4). Engage the motor drive with the valve cam.
(d)
Install the four screws (30) and washers (31).

(e) Install the lockwire on the screws.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)

2) 6L19, TE FLAP ELEC CONT OTBD

Do a check of the bypass valve motor operation:
(a)
Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch on the pilot's center panel to put the flap system in alternate control.
(b)
Make sure that the bypass valve manual override lever moves to position 1.
(c)
Move the flap control lever. Make sure that the flaps do not move.
(d)
Move the flap control lever to the UP detent.
WARNING: THE TRAILING EDGE FLAPS WILL MOVE TO AGREE WITH THE
_______ CONTROL LEVER POSITION WHEN ALTERNATE CONTROL IS DISARMED. MAKE SURE THAT ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE TE AND LE FLAPS.
(e)
Push ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to put the flaps in primary control.
(f)
Make sure that the bypass valve manual override lever moves to position 2.
