 9)  Install the retainers, nuts, washers, and bolts that hold the carriage support bearings to the links.
 10) Tighten the 3/8-inch bolts to 450-550 pound-inches (51-62 N-m), and the 7/16-inch bolts to 760-900 pound-inches (86-102 N-m).

 CAUTION:_______MONITOR THE FLAP MOVEMENT CAREFULLY. THE FLAPS CAN BE DAMAGED BY INCORRECTLY ADJUSTED COMPONENTS.
 BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE FLAPS, MAKE SURE THAT THE HOOK ON THE GENEVA CAM MECHANISM IS IN THE RELEASED POSITION (DETAIL B, FIG. 502). THE FLAPS WILL BE DAMAGED IF YOU OPERATE THEM WITH THE HOOKS IN THE LATCHED POSITION.
 11) Pressurize hydraulic system No. 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201). 12) Retract the outboard flaps by placing the flap control lever in the FLAP UP detent. 13) Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system No. 4. "Hydraulic System Depressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).
 (d)  
Measure the droop and symmetry again.

 (e)  
If the dimensions you measured do not agree with the tolerances given above, do the steps again to change the thickness of the shims.

 (f)  
Install the access panels you removed.

 (g)  
If you removed the outboard flap track fairing, install the fairing per (AMM 27-51-31/401).

Do a Check of the Other Clearances.

 (1)  Make sure that the roller overhang is a maximum of 0.35 inch
 (0.89 cm) (View C, Fig. 501).
 NOTE: The flaps must be fully retracted.

 (2)  Make sure the clearance between the midflap inboard end and the support track is a minimum of 0.35 inch (0.89 cm) (View D, Fig. 501).

 (3)  S 225-031Make sure that the clearance between the foreflap and the midflap is a maximum of 0.15 inch (0.38 cm) (View A-A, Fig. 501).
 NOTE:____ This clearance is not adjustable. If the clearance is out of tolerance, examine the flap for damaged components. Replace the flap components if it is necessary.
 (4)  S 225-032Make sure that the wing lower trailing edge and the midflap are aligned to |0.06 inch (|0.152 cm) (View A-A, Fig. 501).
 (5)  S 835-033If they are not in the tolerance, adjust the tie rods:
 NOTE:____ When you adjust the tie rods, you will bend the wing lower trailing edge panels.
 (a) (b)  Adjust the tie rods on the fixed trailing edge panels.Adjust the tie rod on the support track at the inboard end of the flap.
 (6)  S 225-034Make sure that the bulb seal is compressed 20-80 percent (View A-A, Fig. 501).
 (7)  S 825-063If the seal is not compressed 20-80 percent, adjust the seal retainer.
 (8)  S 395-064Fill all clearances between the seal retainer and structure with the sealant.

 N. Do A Check Of The Spoiler To Midflap Clearance
 S 095-035
 (1)  
Remove the spoiler acutator locking tools, or open the flight control valves for hydraulic systems No. 2 and 3.

Pressurize hydraulic systems No. 2 and 3 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Put the speed brake lever in the DOWN detent to lower spoilers No. 1-4 and 9-12.
