Install the stop fittings (6), on the lower flange of each flap track (Detail B, Fig. 401). 1) Make sure that the shims (14) are the same thickness as was
written down when the flaps were removed. 2) Apply primer to all bare surfaces on the shims. 3) Install the stop fitting and shims on the flap track. 4) Install the two bolts (12) and washers (13). 5) Tighten the bolts to 160-190 pound-inches (18-21 N-m).
Install the lockwire.
6) Make sure that the clearance between the stop fitting and the track is in the dimension shown on Section A-A, Fig. 401.

(d) Install the aft roller supports (7) and shims (8) to the flap
track (Fig. 401, View A-A):
1) Make sure the shims (8) are the same thickness as was
written down when the flaps were removed.
2) Install the aft roller supports (7) and shims (8) with the
bolts (9), washers (10) and nuts (11).
(e) Release the seals on the inboard end of the flap.
(f) Attach the flap to the transmission ball screw nuts with the
ball returns down.
1) Set each ball screw nut to the dimension that was measured
when the flap was removed (Detail D, Fig. 401).
2) Move the flaps to align the gimbal with the ball screw nut.
NOTE: Do not change the ball screw nut position or you____
will change the rigging position.
3) Apply a layer of corrosion preventive compound to the
bolts (18) and bolt holes.
4) Install a sufficient number of washers (19) on the bolts.
NOTE: The bolts must come out of the nuts 0.05 to 0.08____
inch (0.1 to 0.2 cm) after you install the locknuts
(15).
5) At each ball screw nut, install two gimbal caps (17).
a) Engage the gimbal cap keys in the slots.
b) Make sure the bushing flange is against the ball screw
nut.
6) Install four bolts with the heads down. Attach the bolts
with locknuts and washers (16).
a) On the outboard track, tighten the nuts to 120-150
pound-inches (14-17 N-m).
b) On the inboard track, tighten the nuts to 200-240
pound-inches (23-27 N-m).
(g) Remove the ball and screw support tool.
(h) Remove the load positioner, spreader bar, strongback and
turnbuckle from the flap.
(i) Replace the screws where the clips were attached.
(j) Move the carriage and toggles aft.
1) On each main carriage, remove the bolts (2), washers (4),
and nuts (5) from the links.
2) Lower the cam track to the main carriage to permit room for
the carriage and toggles to go aft.
3) Move the carriage and toggles aft and engage the toggle
rollers with the flap track detents.
4) Assemble the links, bolts and nuts for the forward end of
the foreflap cam tracks.
5) Install cotter pins on the nuts.
