THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC ACTUATORS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
__________________________________________________________
1. General
_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. They are the removal and the installation of the actuators.
B. This procedure applies to both actuator types: locking and non-locking. Differences are noted in the procedure.
C. All hydraulic connections should be tightened to 255 pound-inches (28.9 Nm), loosened and retightened to 255 pound-inches (28.9 Nm).
D. There are two configurations of locking actuators.
(1) Upper locking actuators with a hydraulic flow restrictor have a restrictor check valve in the deploy port of the actuator.
NOTE: The restrictor tee in the strut has the poppet valves
____ removed and does not restrict flow.
(a) These restrictor check valves were installed on airplanes after line no. 2228.
(2)
Upper locking actuators without a hydraulic flow restrictor have a flow restrictor in a restrictor tee located in the strut, not in the actuator.
(a) These actuators were installed on airplanes before line no. 2228.
E.
For the upper actuator:
(1)
Connected to the upper side of the extend port is a flexible hydraulic line and connected to the lower side of the extend port is a flex shaft tube.
(2)
Connected to the upper side of the retract port is a flexible hydraulic line and connected to the lower side of the retract port is a semi-rigid hydraulic tube.
F.
For the center actuator:
(1)
Connected to the upper side of the extend port is a flex-shaft tube and connected to the lower side of the extend port is a flex-shaft tube.
(2)
Connected to the upper side of the retract port is a semi-rigid hydraulic tube and connected to the lower side of the retract port is a hydraulic cap.

G. For the bottom actuator:
(1)
Connected to the upper side of the extend port is a flex-shaft tube and connected to the lower side of the extend port is a hydraulic cap.
(2)
Connected to the upper side of the retract port is a semi-rigid hydraulic tube and connected to the lower side of the retract port is a hydraulic cap.
