(g) (h)  Do a check between the trunnion and the gimbal ring for 0.000 to 0.003 inch (0.000 to 0.076 mm) clearance.If it is necessary, install shims to obtain the gap.
 NOTE:____ Shims must be equal on the two sides within 0.003 inch (0.076 mm).
 (i) (j)  Install the retainers and the bolts. 1) Tighten the bolts.Connect the hydraulic line to the RET (retract) port. 1) Tighten the hydraulic line connection at the center or bottom actuator to 255 pound-inches (28.9 Nm).
 NOTE:____ Tighten the hydraulic connections that have been disconnected to 255 pound-inches (28.9 Nm), then loosen and retighten them to 255 pound-inches (28.9 Nm). Fittings with O-rings should not be double-torqued.
 (k)  2) Loosen and tighten the connection again to 255 pound-inches (28.9 Nm).Do these steps to temporarily connect the flex shaft(s) to the actuator to be able to manually translate the sleeve.
 NOTE:____ If you install a center actuator, do these steps at the upper and lower sides of the actuator.
 1)  Push the tube coupling nut and the adapter (View B, Fig. 401) along the tube as it is necessary to expose the flex shaft end.
 2)  Engage the flex shaft with the worm gear shaft in the actuator.
 NOTE:____ Tighten the hydraulic connections that have been disconnected to 255 pound-inches (28.9 Nm), then loosen and retighten them to 255 pound-inches (28.9 Nm). Fittings with O-rings should not be double-torqued.

3) Engage the tube coupling nut 1 to 2 turns.
 H.  Flex Shaft Rigging
 S 984-071-C00
 (1)  With the manual drive connector on the sync lock (View A, Fig. 401), move the sleeve to 0.75 to 1.00 inch (19.1 to 25.4 mm) of the fully retracted position (AMM 78-31-00/201).
 NOTE: The sync lock will ratchet when the sleeve reaches this
____
 point. Do not force the sleeve further.

 (2)  Open these circuit breakers and install DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 (a)  On the P6 panel:
 1)  ENG 1 THR REV CONT SYS
 ENG 2 THR REV CONT SYS

Disconnect the electrical connector D3052 (engine No. 1) or D3056 (engine No. 2) from the control valve module of the thrust reverser (Fig. 402).

Connect the ground support equipment wire bundle (component of B78009-2/21) to the module and to the airplane wire bundle (Fig. 403).


 NOTE: This prevents actuation of the deploy circuit.

 (5) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
 (a)  On the P6 panel:
 1)  ENG 1 THR REV CONT SYS
 ENG 2 THR REV CONT SYS

(6)  S 864-035-C00Disconnect the flex shaft(s) from the actuator.
 (7)  S 864-020-C00Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201). (a) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the BAT switch.
 (8)  S 864-037-C00Supply hydraulic power (AMM 29-15-00/201).
 (9)  S 864-039-C00Make sure that the fire switch is pushed in for the applicable engine.

 Make sure that the reverse thrust levers are fully forward.

 Make sure that all persons and equipment are clear of the sleeve stow area.
