(e) (f) Fully retract the actuator piston rod.Close the return valve on the hand pump.

(7) Disconnect the hand pump hose from the actuator inlet fitting.

(8) Perform these steps to ensure there is no air in the actuator. (a) Extend the actuator piston rod until the lock engages. (b) Wait approximately 60 seconds. Unlock and retract the piston rod.
(c) The piston rod should retract smoothly. If there are any signs of reduced snubbing action, then repeat the filling and bleeding procedure. Reduced snubbing action is indicated by rapid retraction for more than 0.5 in (1.27 cm) of actuator stroke.
(d) If there are any signs of reduced snubbing action after repeating the filling and bleeding procedure, the actuator may need overhaul.

(9) Install the actuator on the airplane (AMM 78-31-08/401).

FLAP SEAL DOOR DEFLECTOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure removes and installs the deflector on the flap seal door, which will be referred to as the deflector.
B. You will find the deflectors on the inboard translating sleeve only.
(1)
There are holes in the inboard and outboard translating sleeves for these deflectors.
(2)
On the outboard translating sleeves, you will find the plugs (aluminum coated, titanium Hi-Lok shear bolts, 100 degrees CSK head).
