SHUTTLE VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. The thrust reverser shuttle valves are located on the forward bulkhead of the main landing gear wheel well.
B. There are other shuttle valves for the alternate brake system in the main landing gear wheel well. Be sure that you identify the thrust reverser shuttle valves.

2. Remove the Shuttle Valve

(1) Prepare to Remove the Shuttle Valve.
(a) Remove hydraulic power (AMM 29-15-00/201).

(2) Remove the Shuttle Valve (Fig. 401).
(a)
Put a container under the shuttle valve to collect the hydraulic fluid.
(b)
Remove the hydraulic lines from the left (right) shuttle valve.
(c)
Install protective caps on the hydraulic lines and in the ports on the shuttle valve.
(d)
Remove the bolts, nuts, and washers that hold the shuttle valve to the forward bulkhead of the main landing gear wheel well.
(e)
Remove the left (right) shuttle valve.
(f)
Remove the restrictor and O-ring from the shuttle valve. 1) Discard the O-ring.
(g)
Remove the unions and O-rings from the shuttle valve. 1) Discard the O-rings.
