CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE THE THRUST REVERSER IS CLOSED AND LATCHED. IF THE THRUST REVERSER IS NOT CLOSED AND LATCHED, AND THE THRUST REVERSER SLEEVE MOVES, DAMAGE TO THE SLEEVE-TO-STRUT FAIRINGS WILL OCCUR.
(a)
Make sure the thrust reverser is closed and latched.
(b)
If the thrust reverser was locked, do this task: Thrust Reverser Activation After Ground Maintenance.
(c)
Move the No. 1(2) reverse thrust lever forward and down to the retracted position.
NOTE: The sleeves will be in the stowed position when the
____ reverse indicator light, on the pilots' center instrument panel, goes off.
(d)
Remove hydraulic power (AMM 29-15-00/201).
(e)
Remove electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
1) Set the BAT switch on the Electrical Meters Battery and Galley Power Module (P5-13) to the OFF position and install a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

C. Manually Extend the Thrust Reverser

(1) Move the sleeve to the extended position.
WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE OPERATION OF
_______ THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Do this task: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground Maintenance.

(b) Open the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO PERSONS, EQUIPMENT, WORK STANDS, OR
_______ OTHER OBJECTS IN THE AREA AFT OF THE THRUST REVERSER SLEEVES. INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR IF A THRUST REVERSER SLEEVE MOVES AND TOUCHES THEM.
CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE THE THRUST REVERSER IS CLOSED AND LATCHED. IF THE THRUST REVERSER IS NOT CLOSED AND LATCHED, AND THE THRUST REVERSER SLEEVE MOVES, DAMAGE TO THE SLEEVE-TO-STRUT FAIRINGS WILL OCCUR.
(c)
Make sure the thrust reverser is closed and latched.
(d)
Supply the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201). 1) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the BAT switch.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION BAR OR OTHER TOOLS TO MOVE THE
_______ UNLOCK HANDLE. IF YOU USE AN EXTENSION BAR OR OTHER TOOLS, DAMAGE TO THE UNLOCK HANDLE OR ACTUATOR CAN OCCUR.
(e) Move the manual unlock handle forward (Fig. 204).
NOTE: The sleeve will move out of the stowed position.

(f) Slowly move the No. 1(2) reverse thrust lever up and aft to the extended position. 1) Move the manual unlock handle forward (Fig. 204).
NOTE: The sleeve will move out of the stowed position.

(g) Engage a wrench in the manual drive (Fig. 204).
NOTE: You can use a pneumatic ratchet wrench with a 3/8-inch
____
square drive or a speed wrench.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE SQUARE DRIVE FULLY ENGAGES THE SYNC-LOCK
_______ BEFORE YOU TRY TO EXTEND THE THRUST REVERSER. DO NOT USE FORCE TO ENGAGE THE SYNC-LOCK SQUARE DRIVE. MAKE SURE THE MANUAL DRIVE STAYS FULLY ENGAGED WHILE YOU OPERATE THE SQUARE DRIVE. IF YOU TRY TO EXTEND THE THRUST REVERSER WITH THE SYNC-LOCK PARTIALLY ENGAGED OR TRY TO FORCE THE SQUARE DRIVE TO ENGAGE, YOU WILL DAMAGE THE SYNC-LOCK.
