Open the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Drain the actuators and plumbing as follows:
(a) Use a 5-gallon container to catch the hydraulic fluid.
CAUTION: BE PREPARED TO CATCH THE HYDRAULIC FLUID AND CLEAN UP THE
_______ SPILLS. THE HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE METAL PARTS ON THE ENGINE.
(b)
Loosen the flexible line connections at the locking actuator.
(c)
Remove the caps from the lower EXT and RET ports on the bottom actuator and drain the fluid.
(d)
When the hydraulic fluid has drained, tighten the flexible line connections at the locking actuator to 255 pound-inches.
(e)
Loosen the flexible line connections at the locking actuator.
(f)
Tighten the flexible line connections at the locking actuator to 255 pound-inches.
(g)
Replace the caps on the bottom actuator.

(5) Do these steps to remove the rotary flex shaft:
(a) Remove the bolt and fairlead from the tubing support bracket.
NOTE: Keep the fairlead, shims and channel together.

(b)
Loosen the tube coupling nut at the two ends of the flex shaft tube.
(c)
Push the tube into the nut on the opposite end of the tube.
(d)
Disconnect the nut from the actuator.
(e)
Move the nut and tube adapter along the tube to get to the flex shaft.
(f)
Remove the flex shaft from the actuator and from the shaft tube.
