(19) Secure the upper end of the opening actuator to the engine with string to make sure it is clear of the thrust reverser.

CAUTION: DO NOT EXTEND THE FEEDBACK PUSH-PULL CABLES OF THE THRUST
_______ REVERSER WHILE THEY ARE DISCONNECTED FROM THE ACTUATOR. THIS CAN CAUSE THE RACK AND PINION IN THE CONTROL BOX OF THE STRUT DRUM TO BE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT.
(20) Disconnect the feedback cable from the upper locking actuator (View B, Fig. 402).
(a)
Loosen the jamnut and release the cable from the support bracket.
(b)
Disconnect the cable end of the feedback cable from the bellcrank of the locking actuator.
(c)
Secure the loose end of the cable away from the reverser.

(21) Disconnect the electrical connector D1008 (D1016) from the sync lock (View B, Fig. 402).
(a)
Remove the lacing tape that ties the sync lock wiring harness to the thrust reverser wiring harness.
(b)
Remove the sync lock wiring harness (W1412) from the clamps that are attached to the thrust reverser. 1) Make sure the clamps are installed around the thrust
reverser wiring harness after you remove the sync lock wire harness (W1412) from the clamps.
(c)
Secure the wiring harness away from the thrust reverser so it will not be damaged when the thrust reverser is removed.
(d)
Install the protective caps on the plug and receptacle.

(22) Disconnect the electrical connector (View B and F, Fig. 402) from the bracket on the fan cowl support beam.
(a) Install the protective caps on the plug and receptacle.

CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN ALL THE HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAKAGES. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(23) Disconnect the hydraulic lines (View B and F, Fig. 402) from the fan cowl support beam.
(a) Put the protective caps on the open fittings and lines.

(24) If the bootstrap handling equipment for the thrust reverser is to be used, install the equipment as follows (Fig. 403):
(a) Attach the inboard and outboard bootstrap hoist attach fittings
to the fittings on the strut forward bulkhead
(View A, Fig. 403).
(b) Attach the boom support to the hoist attach fittings (View A,
Fig. 403).
(c) Attach the base to the boom support.
(d) Put the boom into the base.
(e) Install the upper attach fittings of the sling, C78003, to the
bushed clevis fittings on the upper bifurcation of the thrust
reverser (View B, Fig. 403).
(f) Install the lower attach fittings of the sling, C78003, at the
tapped holes in the lower bifurcation (View C, Fig. 403).
(g) Attach the fishpole hoist and pulley block to the sling.
NOTE:____ Use the upper attach point on the sling if you remove
the inboard thrust reverser half. Use the lower point
on the sling if you remove the outboard thrust reverser
half.
(h) Use the fishpole hoist to lift up the sling and attach the
sling to the upper and lower attach fittings.
