 WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE
_______ THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  
Do the deactivation procedure for the thrust reverser for ground
 maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the (left, right) fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

 WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO OPEN THE THRUST

 REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU OPEN
 THE THRUST REVERSERS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO
 EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

Open the (left, right) thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Examine all insulation.

If you can put a one-inch diameter dowel into the area where there
 is no insulation, do these steps:


 (a)  
Examine the honeycomb panel face sheet for delamination. 1) Repair the honeycomb if delamination has occured.

 (b)  
Repair the loose insulation before the insulation falls off.

 (c)  
Replace the insulation with the same or more than the initial thickness.

 

 (6)  
Examine the insulation for damage.

 (7)  
Seal all of the damaged areas with BMS 10-102, Type II.

Use the major damage repair procedure if the damaged areas of the
 insulation are less than two inches between the dowel centers.
