NOTE: Side to side movement of the actuator rod end to align it
____ with the thrust reverser attach points is permitted, but rotation of the rod end will change the internal feedback adjustment.

WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE
_______ THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do the deactivation procedure for the thrust reverser for ground maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove hydraulic power (AMM 29-15-00/201).

Make sure the reverse thrust levers are fully forward and down in the retracted position.

Open the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Manually, move the sleeve aft approximately ten inches (254 mm) (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Drain the actuators and the hydraulic tubes as follows:
(a)
Get a 5-gallon (20 liters) container to catch the hydraulic fluid.
CAUTION:_______PREPARE TO CATCH THE HYDRAULIC FLUID. IMMEDIATELY CLEAN ALL SPILLS. HYDRAULIC FLUID CAUSES CORROSION ON METAL.
(b)
Loosen the flexible line connections at the upper (locking) actuator (View A, Fig. 401).
(c)
Remove the caps from the lower EXT (extend) and RET (retract) ports on the lower actuator (View D, Fig. 401).
1) Let the fluid drain.
