2. Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground Maintenance
___________________________________________________
A. General
(1)
To isolate the reverser hydraulic system from the airplane hydraulic system, you install the lockpin C78004-2 in the manual shutoff valve on the control valve module. The lockpin C78004-2 is installed with the handle for the manual shutoff valve moved. This will prevent movement of the translating sleeves if the reverse thrust levers are moved. You must install the lockpin C78004-2 when persons or equipment are in the area where the translating sleeve can move.

The lockpin C78004-2 is included as part of the kit C78004-1, lockpin equipment for the thrust reverser translating sleeve. The kit C78004-1 is included as a part of the fly-away kit 65-73733-1.

(1) For the left engine, open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
(a) P6-2 Load Control Center
1) ENG 1 THR REV CONT

(2) For the right engine, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6-2 Load Control Center
1) ENG 2 THR REV CONT
2) ENG 2 THR REV CONT SYS - ALTN

For the left engine, open the left access panel for the air conditioning.

For the right engine, open the right access panel for the air conditioning.

Move the manual isolation valve handle clockwise on the control valve module for the thrust reverser (Fig. 201).

Put the lockpin C78004-2 through the manual shutoff valve lever and in the control valve module for the thrust reverser.
