_______ SURFACES, THE THRUST REVERERS, AND THE LANDING GEAR. THESE COMPONENTS CAN MOVE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (a)  
Supply hydraulic power (AMM 29-15-00/201).

 (b)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201). 1) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the BAT switch.

 (c)  
Make sure that the left (right) THR REV CONT SYS circuit breaker on the P6 panel is open.

 (d)  
ON AIRPLANES WITH THRUST REVERSER SYNC LOCKS; ON ENGINE NO. 2; Open the THR REV CONT SYS ALTN circuit breaker on the P6 panel.

 (e)  
Make sure that the applicable fire switch is pushed in.

 (f)  
Make sure that the reverse thrust levers are fully forward and down.

 (g)  
Do the activation procedure for the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).


 WARNING: MAKE SURE THERE IS HYDRAULIC PRESSURE IN THE STOW PART OF
_______ THE REVERSER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. THIS WILL PREVENT A POSSIBLE HIGH PRESSURE LEAK OF HYDRAULIC FLUID AND A SLEEVE DEPLOYMENT.
 (h)  Disconnect the electrical connector D3052 (engine No. 1) or D3056 (engine No. 2) from the control valve module of the thrust reverser (Fig. 402).

(i)  Connect the wire bundle for the ground support equipment (component of B78009-2/21) to the module and to the airplane wire bundle.
 NOTE: This will prevent the actuation of the deploy circuit.

 (j)  
Close the left (right) THR REV CONT SYS circuit breaker on the P6 panel.

 (k)  
Unlock the sync lock: 1) Move the No. 1(2) reverse thrust lever to the extend position.


 2)  Move the No. 1(2) reverse thrust lever to the retract position.
 NOTE: You must do the next step in less than 90
____ seconds after you move the reverse thrust lever to the retract position. If you do not, the sync lock will lock and prevent the movement of the sleeve.
 CAUTION: DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION BAR OR OTHER TOOLS TO MOVE THE
_______ UNLOCK HANDLE. IF YOU USE AN EXTENSION BAR OR OTHER TOOLS, DAMAGE TO THE UNLOCK HANDLE OR ACTUATOR CAN OCCUR.
 (l)  Move the manual unlock handle forward on the applicable upper actuator of the thrust reverser to operate the auto-restow function.
 NOTE: This will keep the hydraulic pressure on the stow
____ side of the actuators during the flex shaft installation. When you apply pressure to the actuators (to move the thrust reversers to the stow position) there is no pressure in the the flex shaft tubes.
 (m)  Make sure that the locking actuator has locked.

 (2)  Connect the flexshaft between the center and lower actuators as follows:
 (a)  
Insert the flex shaft in the tube.

 (b)  
Continue to push the shaft into the tube until the shaft engages the actuator on the opposite end of the tube.

 (c)  
Insert the shaft end into the actuator.

 (d)  
Engage the tube coupling nut for 1 to 2 turns.

 (e)  
Center the tube in the coupling nuts and adapters.

 (f)  
Tighten the coupling nuts.

 (g)  
Install the fairlead, shims, channel and bolt on the support bracket.
