 (2)  If there are plugs on the inboard translating sleeve, remove the plugs (Hi-Lok bolt).
 (a)  You can get access to the plugs from the forward end of the translating sleeve.

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE DEFLECTORS ON THE INBOARD TRANSLATING
_______ SLEEVES OF THE THRUST REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DEFLECTORS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLAPS WHEN YOU EXTEND THE THRUST REVERSERS.
 (3)  Do these steps to install the deflector:
 (a)  The maximum permitted separation between the deflector and the translating sleeve surface is 0.000 to 0.005 inch.
 NOTE: This is measured before you install the bolt.

 1) Use a laminated shims to get this separation.
 (b)  
Prepare the metal surfaces for the seal and paint.

 (c)  
Apply the parting agent to the mating area of the deflector.

 NOTE: Apply the parting agent to one surface only.

 (d)  
Apply the sealant on all the mating surfaces of the deflector, the translating sleeve and the two sides of shims. 1) Put the deflector on the translating sleeve surface. 2) Tighten the bolts to 30-50 pound-inches. 3) Install the lockwire.

 (e)  
Apply a fillet seal to the remaining separation.

 (f)  
Apply a layer of paint.

Manually retract the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 (5)  
Do the activation procedure for the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).
