 WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE AND INSTALL THE THRUST REVERSER IN
_______ SUDDEN STRONG WINDS CONDITIONS. DO NOT USE THE HOLD-OPEN ROD TO HOLD THE COWLING IN THE OPEN POSITION IF THE WIND VELOCITY IS MORE THAN 60 KNOTS. INJURY CAN OCCUR.
 DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  
Do the deactivation procedure for thrust reverser for ground maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove hydraulic power (AMM 29-15-00/201).

Remove the pressure from the applicable hydraulic reservoir (AMM 29-09-00/201).

Open the circuit breakers and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags for the applicable engine as follows:

 (a)  P6 Load Control Center
 1) ENG 1 THR REV IND SYS
 2) ENG 2 THR REV IND SYS
 3) ENG 1 SYNC LOCK
 4) ENG 2 SYNC LOCK
 5) ENG 2 SYNC LOCK - ALTN


 (5)  
Remove the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/401).

 (6)  
Remove the forward segment of the reverser sleeve-to-strut fairing.

 (7)  
Remove the forward fairing (AMM 54-32-01/401).

 (8)  
Manually extend the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 (9)  
Remove the forward two hinge fitting seal supports (Fig. 401).

 (10)
 Manually retract the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).
