(5)
Examine each blocker door for too much hinge movement.
(a) Measure the clearance between the aft edge of the blocker door and the forward edge of the acoustic panel. 1) Make a record of this dimension, and the blocker door
location.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE THE SCREWDRIVER TO MOVE THE
_______ BLOCKER DOOR AWAY FROM THE ACOUSTIC PANEL. IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL, THE SCREWDRIVER CAN CAUSE INJURY TO YOU AND DAMAGE THE BLOCKER DOOR OR THE ACOUSTIC PANEL.
(b) Carefully push a screwdriver between the edge of a closed blocker door and a acoustic panel.
NOTE: This will push the blocker door forward.
____
(c) Measure the clearance between the edge of the closed blocker door and the acoustic panel.
NOTE: Maximum permitted clearance is the axial clearance
____ in the spherical bearing of the hinge that is between the flanged bushings.
1) Make a record of this dimension.

NOTE: This will push the blocker door sideways.
____
(e) Measure the clearance between the blocker door and the panel
adjacent to it.
1) If the clearance is more than 0.16 inch,
make a record of this dimension, and the blocker door location. 2) Remove the screwdriver and continue to do the hinge check.
S 976-011-C00
(6) Do the calculations for the hinge movement.
(a) Subtract the first dimension from the second dimension to get the measurement of the movement in the blocker door bearings and hinge bolts. 1) If the clearance is more than 0.008 inch (0.2 mm),
make a record of this dimension, and the blocker door location.
