Use a flashlight and a mirror to do a visual inspection of the upper and lower thrust reverser auxiliary track liners.
(a) Make sure the surface of the track liner is smooth.
1) If you find gouges, nicks, burrs, galling, holes, cracks, or wear in the track liner, do these steps: a) Remove the auxiliary track liner (CMM 78-31-23). b) Do this task: Dimensional Inspection of the Thrust
Reverser Auxiliary Track. c) Install a new auxiliary track liner (CMM 78-31-23). d) Do the steps to do a visual inspection of the
auxilliary slider fittings. 2) If you do not find damage to the track liner, do the steps to do a visual inspection of the auxiliary slider fittings.

(5) Do a visual inspection of the auxiliary slider fittings.
(a) Do this task: Do A Visual Inspection Of The Thrust Reverser Auxiliary Slider (AMM 78-31-13/601). 1) If you do not find wear or damage to the slider fitting
metal or the Rulon J tape, do these steps:
a) AIRPLANES WITH THE OLD STYLE AUXILIARY TRACK LINERS; AIRPLANES PRE SB 78A1048; Do the steps to do a visual inspection of the upper and lower thrust reverser auxiliary track beams.

b) Do this task: Put The Airplane Back To Its Usual Condition. No further action is necessary.
2) If you find wear or damage to the slider fitting metal or the Rulon J tape, do these steps: a) Install a new track slider (CMM 78-31-23). b) AIRPLANES WITH THE OLD STYLE AUXILIARY TRACK LINERS;
AIRPLANES PRE BOEING SB 78A1048;
Do the steps to do a visual inspection of the upper and
lower thrust reverser auxiliary track beams.
c) Do this task: Put The Airplane Back To Its Usual Condition. No further action is necessary.

(a) AIRPLANES WITH THE OLD STYLE AUXILIARY TRACK LINERS; AIRPLANES PRE BOEING SB 78A1048; Look for wear, damage, cracks, or burrs only on the lip of the auxiliary track beam. 1) If you find wear, damage, cracks, or burrs on the auxiliary
track beam, do these steps:
a) Remove the auxiliary track liner (CMM 78-31-23).
b) Do this task: Dimensional Inspection of the Thrust
Reverser Auxiliary Track. c) Install a new auxiliary track liner (CMM 78-31-23).
2) If you do not find wear, damage, cracks, or burrs on the auxiliary track beam, do this task: Put The Airplane Back To Its Usual Condition.
(b) AIRPLANES WITH THE NEW STYLE AUXILIARY TRACK LINERS; AIRPLANES POST BOEING SB 78A1048; Do the steps that follow: 1) Remove the auxiliary track liner (CMM 78-31-23). 2) Look for wear, damage, cracks, or burrs on the auxiliary
track beam. a) If you find wear, damage, cracks or burrs on the auxiliary track beam:
