 (4)  Push the reverser halves together, if it is necessary, so the latch hooks can be engaged.
 NOTE: You can use the latching tool to help pull the reverser

 (5)  Adjust the tension of the latches.
 NOTE: Adjust the tension latches in order from front to aft.

 (a)  
Make sure that the latch hook is engaged on the anchor bolt.

 (b)  
Close the latch handle and measure the force that is necessary to close the latch (Fig. 502). 1) Measure the force with the spring scale approximately

 1.0 inch (25 mm) from the end of the handle.

 (c)  
If the force is not 50 to 55 pounds, adjust the nut on the latch and close the latch again.

 (6)  Repeat the adjustment for all the latches.

THRUST REVERSER - AUXILIARY TRACKS

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This inspection procedure contains three tasks.
 (1)  
The first task is a general visual inspection of the thrust reverser auxiliary track.

 (2)  
The second task is a detailed dimensional inspection of the thrust reverser auxiliary track.

 (3)  
The third task is a task to put the airplane back to its usual condition.

 B.  
Boeing SB 78A1048 modified the design of the thrust reverser auxiliary track liner (Fig. 601).

 (1)  
On airplanes PRE SB 78A1048, the old style liners do not cover the lip of the auxiliary track beam. It is possible to visually inspect the auxiliary track beam lip without removing the track liner.

 (2)  
On airplanes POST SB 78A1048, the new style liner covers the lip of the auxiliary track beam. To do an inspection of the auxiliary track beam, it is necessary to remove the track liner to inspect the auxiliary track beam.

 2.  Visual Inspection of the Thrust Reverser Auxiliary Track

This task is a visual inspection of the thrust reverser auxiliary track with the thrust reverser sleeve installed.
