 (b)  
Make a note of the the actuator part number, and the installed position of the fitting [190] and the bellcrank assembly [125].

 (c)  
Extend the acutator to approximately the mid-stroke position.

 (d)  
Move the bellcrank assembly [125] onto the fitting [190].

 (e)  
Remove the bolt [105], bushing [120], washer [110], and collar

 [115] from the fitting [190] and the bellcrank assembly [125].

 (f)  
Fully retract the actuator [195] and install the rig pin.

 (g)  
Move the bellcrank assembly [125] away from the fitting [190].

 (h)  
Remove the screws [170], washers [175], and leaf spring from the fitting [190].

 (i)  
Remove the lock tab [10].

 (j)  
Remove the bolt [15], bushing [35], and washer [20].

(k)  
Remove the rod [65] from the clevis end of the actuator [195].

 (l)  
Remove the rig pin from the actuator.

 (m)  
Remove the screws [180], washers [185], and fitting [190] from the actuator [195].

 (n)  
Remove the bushings [30, 40] from the clevis end of the actuator [195].

 (o)  
Remove the bolt [45A], washers [50], and collar [55].

 (p)  
Remove the rod [65] and bushing [60] from the bellcrank [125].

 (q)  
Do the procedure to buildup a basic locking actuator into a left half locking actuator or into a right half locking actuator (AMM 78-31-03/401).

 (r)  
If not already done, do the adjustment/test procedure for the actuator assembly (AMM 78-31-03/501).


 F.  Prepare for the Installation
 S 844-016-C00
 (1)  Do the steps that follow to prepare the hydraulic actuator for
 installation.

 (a)  Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 1)  On the P6 Panel:
 a) ENG 2 THR REV CONT SYS - ALTN

 G.  Hydraulic Actuator Installation

 CAUTION: DO NOT PERMIT THE ACTUATOR ROD END TO TURN OR BE TURNED WHEN
_______
 YOU HANDLE THE ACTUATOR. DAMAGE TO THE INTERNAL FEEDBACK
 MECHANISM CAN OCCUR.

 (1)  Obey the caution that procedes throughout this procedure.
 NOTE: Side to side movement of the actuator rod end to align it
____ with the thrust reverser attach points is permitted, but rotation of the rod end will change the internal feedback adjustment.

 (2)  Do the steps that follow to install the upper (locking) actuator:
 (a)  Insert the rig pin through the feedback bracket and the lever (View B, Fig. 401).

(b) (c) (d)  Make sure that the clearance at the actuator rod end is as shown in (View A-A, Fig. 401). 1) The proper clearance is required for the actuator to lock. 2) If the clearance is not within the limits, adjust the actuator (AMM 78-31-03/501).Remove the rig pin.Remove the plug from the upper EXT (extend) port.
 NOTE:____ Do not remove the plug from the lower EXT port.
 (e) (f)  UPPER ACTUATORS WITHOUT A HYDRAULIC FLOW RESTRICTOR; Install the union with a new O-ring.UPPER ACTUATORS WITH A HYDRAULIC FLOW RESTRICTOR; Install the restrictor check valve with a new O-ring (AMM 20-10-17/401).
 NOTE:____ Make sure that the large free flow arrow on the restrictor check valve points away from the actuator.
 (g)  Hold the manual unlock handle in the unlocked position and pull on the rod end to extend the actuator rod end 10 to 12 inches
 (h)  (254 to 305 mm).Insert the actuator, the rod end first, through the torque box, the gimbal ring and the cascade aft support ring.
