(b) Turn the manual drive for the hook actuator counterclockwise until it hits the internal stops as follows (Fig. 510): 1) Use a torque wrench with a dial indicator to manually turn
the actuator counterclockwise at 25 |5 pound-inches torque. 2) Manually turn the actuator until the torque increases by 15-20 pound-inches. 3) Turn the manual drive 1/2 turn clockwise.
NOTE: The internal stops are at this point.
____
(c)
Turn the manual drive clockwise 7 turns.
(d)
Adjust the hook open switches to operate at this point as follows: 1) Measure the continuity through the hook open switch. 2) Move the hook open switch in its bracket until it opens.
NOTE: You will know the switch opens when there is no
____
continuity through it.
S 825-049
(6) Adjust the hook closed switches as follows (Fig. 515):
NOTE: These steps are for the forward and the aft hook closed
____ switches. This is the initial adjustment of the hook closed switch. The final adjustment is done in a subsequent step.
(a) Turn the manual drive of the hook actuator clockwise until it hits the internal stops as follows: 1) Use a torque wrench with a dial indicator to manually turn
the actuator clockwise at 25 |5 pound-inches. 2) Manually turn the actuator until the torque increases by 15-20 pound-inches. 3) Turn the manual drive 1/2 turn counterclockwise
NOTE: The internal stops are at this point.
____
(b)
Turn the manual drive counterclockwise 9 turns.
(c)
Adjust the hook closed switch to operate at this point as follows: 1) Measure the continuity through the hook closed switches.

2) Move the hook closed switch in its bracket until it opens.
NOTE: You will know the switch opens when there is no
____
continuity through it.
(d) When the two switches are adjusted, hold the door control switch in the open position until the lift mechanism start to lift the door in the open direction. Release the door control switch.
NOTE: This will put the hooks and latches to the open
____ position, and will put the door to its correct in-sequence position.
(e) Do the final adjustment of the hook open switches. 1) Insert a torque wrench in the manual drive of the hook
actuator. 2) Turn the torque wrench slowly in the OPEN direction. 3) Make sure you can turn the torque wrench 2 to 4 turns
before the actuator hits the internal stops.
NOTE: The actuator hits the internal stops when the
____ torque increases 15 to 20 pound-inches during one-half turn of the wrench.
4) If internal stop is not contacted in 2 to 4 turns, adjust the switch as follows: a) Subtract the actual number of turns remaining from the
3 turns required. b) Add this number to 7 turns. c) Set the hook open switches to operate at this point.
EXAMPLE: Assume 1 turn remains until the stop is contacted. The 3 required turns minus the 1 actual turn equals 2 turns. Add this to 7 turns to get 9 turns. Turn the hook actuator 9 turns toward the closed position. Set the hook closed switch to operate at this point.
EXAMPLE: Assume 5 turns remain until stop is contacted. The 3 required turns minus the 5 actual turns equals -2 turns. Add this to 7 turns to get 5 turns. Turn the hook actuator 5 turns toward the open position. Set the hook closed switch to operate at this point.
