WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE DOOR AND
_______ THE DOOR OPENING WHEN YOU OPERATE THE DOOR. FAILURE OF THE LIFT MECHANISM COULD CAUSE THE DOOR TO CLOSE QUICKLY WHICH COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure the door is closed and latched (Ref 52-32-00/001).

(2) S 644-027Put grease on the splines of these parts: (a) The quill shaft (b) The gearboxes (c) The torque tubes (d) The rotary actuators.
(3) S 434-028If one of the gearboxes is installed, insert one end of the torque tube into it.
NOTE:____ This is the torque tube that goes between the two gearboxes (Detail A).
(4) S 424-014Install the forward gearbox as follows: (a) Install the quill shaft on the power unit shaft (Detail E). (b) Hold the gearbox in position on the bracket (Detail A). (c) Make sure the splines on the gearbox align with the quill shaft. (d) Make sure the splines on the torque tube align with the splines in the gearbox.
NOTE:____ This is the torque tube that goes from the forward gearbox to the aft gearbox. If the aft gearbox is not installed this torque tube will not be installed.
(e) (f) Turn the gearbox shaft to align the splines on the quill shaft and the torque tube (if it is necessary).Install the bolts that attach the gearbox to the bracket and the power unit.
(5) S 424-029Install the aft gearbox as follows: (a) If the forward gearbox is installed, do these steps: 1) Insert the torque tube into the forward gearbox.
NOTE:____ This is the torque tube that goes between the two gearboxes.

2) Align the splines in the aft gearbox with the splines on the torque tube.
NOTE: Turn the aft gearbox input shaft to align

the splines.
3) Put the gearbox in position and engage the torque tube with the gearbox.

Attach the gearbox to the bracket with the bolts.
(c)
Put the torque tube into the power unit.
