Procedure

(1)
Make sure the side cargo door is closed.
(2)
Make sure the master latch lock handle is in the closed position.
(3)
Open the retainer over the internal master latch lock handle.
(4)
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Do the operational test as follows:
(a)
Make sure the indications are as follows:

1) The POWER ON indicator lights on the internal and external control panels are on.

2) The DOOR UP indicator lights on the control panels are off. 3) The LATCHES CLOSED indicator lights on the control panels are off. 4) The SIDE CARGO DR (CAUTION) message does not show on EICAS.
(b)
Turn the internal or external master latch lock handle to the fully open position.
(c)
Make sure the indications and operation are as follows: 1) The SIDE CARGO DR (CAUTION) message shows on EICAS.
NOTE:____ The SIDE CARGO DR (CAUTION) message must show
on EICAS until the side cargo door is closed and the
master latch lock handle is closed.
2) The LATCHES CLOSED lights on the control panels come on.
3) The mechanism operates smoothly with no interference across
the latch cams.
4) The pressure relief doors open.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE
_______ DOOR AND THE DOOR OPENING WHEN YOU OPERATE THE DOOR. FAILURE OF THE LIFT MECHANISM COULD CAUSE THE DOOR TO CLOSE QUICKLY WHICH COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.
CAUTION: DO NOT CLOSE THE DOOR UNTIL 5 MINUTES AFTER YOU OPEN IT.
_______ DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR UNTIL 5 MINUTES AFTER YOU CLOSE IT. IF YOU DO NOT STOP THE OPERATION OF THE DOOR, THE THERMAL PROTECTIVE SWITCH IN THE LIFT POWER UNIT WILL OPEN.
IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(d) Move the internal or external door control switch to the OPEN position until the door is in the fully open position and the electrical operation off.
NOTE: The door will stop shortly during the movement of the
____ door between the hook mechanism and the lift mechanism operation. This is because of the lost motion in the slip joints of the rotary actuator links.
(e) Make sure the indications and operation are as follows: 1) The LATCHES CLOSED lights go off when the door starts to move.
2) The door is at the fully open position (bottom of door approximately 12 inches higher than the end of the rotary actuator arm) in approximately 66 seconds.

NOTE: The light can come on before the electrical

operation stops.
CAUTION: DO NOT CLOSE THE DOOR UNTIL 5 MINUTES AFTER YOU OPEN IT.
_______ DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR UNTIL 5 MINUTES AFTER YOU CLOSE IT. IF YOU DO NOT STOP THE OPERATION OF THE DOOR, THE THERMAL PROTECTIVE SWITCH IN THE LIFT POWER UNIT WILL OPEN.
(f) Move the internal or external door control switch to the CLOSE position until the door is in the fully closed position and the electrical operation stops.
