CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(ag) Open the door electrically 20 to 40 inches.
(ah) Close and latch the door electrically.
(ai) Use your hand to turn the rotary actuator links at the forward
and aft rotary actuators. (aj) Make sure the two rotary actuator links turn freely a small amount.
NOTE: This shows that the rotary actuator links are not in
____
compression.
1) If the rotary actuator links are not free to turn, adjust the lift mechanism (Ref Adjustment section).
G. Do a Test of the Side Cargo Door Control and Indication System

(1)
Make sure that the side cargo door is closed.

(2)
Make sure that the master latch lock handle is in the closed position.
S 215-048
(3)
Make sure that the retainer over the internal master latch lock handle is open.
S 755-044
(4)
Do the test.
(a)
Make sure that the indications are as follows:
1) The POWER ON indicator lights on the internal and external control panels are on.

2) The DOOR UP indicator lights on the control panels are off. 3) The LATCHES CLOSED indicator lights on the control panels are off. 4) The SIDE CARGO DR message does not show on EICAS.
(b) Put the EIU select switches in AUTO.
NOTE: These switches are on the Captain's and First Officer's

Source Select Switch Panel (P1-1 and P3-1).
(c)
Make sure the DOOR SIDE CARGO (STATUS) message does not show on EICAS.
(d)
Turn the external master latch lock handle all the way open.
(e)
Make sure the indications and operation are as follows: 1) The SIDE CARGO DR (CAUTION) message show on EICAS.
NOTE: The SIDE CARGO DR (CAUTION) message must stay
____ on EICAS until the side cargo door is closed and the master latch lock handle is locked.
2) The LATCHES CLOSED lights on the control panels come on. 3) The mechanism operates smoothly with no interference across the latch cams. 4) The pressure relief doors open.
CAUTION: DO NOT CLOSE THE DOOR UNTIL 5 MINUTES AFTER YOU OPEN IT.
_______ DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR UNTIL 5 MINUTES AFTER YOU CLOSE IT. IF YOU DO NOT STOP OPERATION OF THE DOOR, THE THERMAL PROTECTIVE SWITCH IN THE LIFT POWER UNIT WILL OPEN.
(f) Move the external door control switch to the OPEN position until the door is fully open and electrical operation stops.
NOTE: The door will stop shortly when the door moves
____ between the hook mechanism and lift mechanism. This is because of the lost motion in the slip joints of the rotary actuator links.

(g) Make sure the indications and operation are as follows:
1) The LATCHES CLOSED lights go off when the door starts to move.
NOTE: The door reaches its fully open position (the
____ bottom of the door is approximately 12 inches higher than the end ofthe rotary actuator arm) in approximately 66 seconds.
