5) If the external stops are not against each other in 3 |1 turns, do these steps: a) Subtract the number of turns remaining from the 3
turns.

b) Subtract this difference from the 8 |1/4 turns of rigging in the "switch adjustment" step above.
c) Do the initial adjustment of the latches open switch with the new value for the 8 |1/4 turns of "switch adjustment".
EXAMPLE: Assume 1 turn remains until stops are
_______ contacted. The 3 required turns minus the 1 actual turn equals 2 turns. Use 6 |1/4 turns (8 |1/4 minus 2) in "switch adjustment" step above.
EXAMPLE: Assume 4 turns remain until stops are
_______ contacted. The 3 required turns minus the 4 actual turns equals -1 turn. Use 9 |1/4 turns (8 |1/4 minus -1) in "switch adjustment" step above.
6) When the switch is adjusted correctly, install the lockwire on the locknuts.
(c) Do the initial adjustment for the latches closed switch as follows (Fig. 403):
NOTE: Use this procedure only when you adjust a replacement
____ switch. If you will adjust the initial (old) switch go directly to the switch operational check.
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINTUES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
1) Open the cargo door approximately one to two feet.
2) Loosen the locknuts and adjust the switch in the bracket to get the initial adjustment (View B-B).
3) Set the latch actuator (1) until the external stops are against each other (closed position Fig. 402) as follows: a) Use a torque wrench with a dial indicator to manually
turn the actuator clockwise at 25 |5 pound-inches torque. b) Monitor the point at which torque increases by 15-20 pound-inches. c) Turn the manual drive 1/2 turn counterclockwise.
NOTE: This is when the external stops are against each
____
other.

d) Make sure the plunger for the latches open switch is
not fully pushed in.
4) Turn the latch actuator (1) 15 turns counterclockwise.
5) Make sure the striker plate is not against the switch
plunger.
6) Disconnect electrical connector DX225C from the cargo door junction box.
7) Adjust the switch to make sure there is continuity between pins 9 and 10 of connector DX225C as the latch actuator (1) is turned 8 |1/4 turns counterclockwise. (The switch operates 7 |1/4 turns before the external stops contacted [closed] position [Fig. 402].)
NOTE: The switch must operate while the latch actuator is
____ turned to the closed stops (clockwise). One turn of the limit switch locknut will change the switch operation point approximately one turn on the latch actuator.
