Set the hook actuator in the rigged open position as follows (Fig. 403):
CAUTION: USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR TO FIND WHEN THE
_______ ACTUATOR INTERNAL STOPS ARE AGAINST EACH OTHER. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 70 POUND-INCHES OF TORQUE. IF YOU USE MORE THAN 70 POUND-INCHES, YOU CAN CAUSE INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE ACTUATOR.
(a)
Use a torque wrench with a dial indicator to manually turn the actuator in open direction (couterclockwise).
(b)
Measure the torque. When the torque increases by 15-20 pound-inches, turn the actuator 1/2 turn in the clockwise direction.
NOTE: This is when the internal stops are against each other.
____
(c) Turn the torque wrench in the clockwise direction two additional turns.
NOTE: This is the rigged open position.
