Make sure that the indications and operation are as follows: 1) The SIDE CARGO DR (CAUTION) message show on EICAS.
NOTE: The SIDE CARGO DR (CAUTION) message must stay
____ on EICAS until the side cargo door is closed and the master latch lock handle is locked.
2) The LATCHES CLOSED lights on the control panels come on. 3) The mechanism operates smoothly with no evidence of interference across the latch cams. 4) The pressure relief doors open.

CAUTION: DO NOT CLOSE THE DOOR UNTIL 5 MINUTES AFTER YOU OPEN IT.
_______ DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR UNTIL 5 MINUTES AFTER YOU CLOSE IT. IF YOU DO NOT STOP THE OPERATION OF THE DOOR, THE THERMAL PROTECTIVE SWITCH IN THE LIFT POWER UNIT WILL OPEN.
(p) Move the internal door control switch to the OPEN position until the door is fully open and electrical operation stops.
NOTE: The door will stop shortly when the door moves
____ between the hook mechanism and lift mechanism. This is because of the lost motion in the slip joints of the rotary actuator links.
(q) Make sure the indications and operation are as follows:
1) The LATCHES CLOSED lights go off when the door starts to move.
NOTE: The door is in the fully open position (The
____ bottom of the door is approximately 12 inches higher than the end of the rotary actuator arm) in approximately 66 seconds.
2) The DOOR UP lights on the control panels come on when the door is fully up.
NOTE: The light can come on before the electrical
____
operation stops.

CAUTION:_______ IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT
OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL
SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE
BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN,
WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(s) Move the internal door control switch to the OPEN position and open the door approximately 1 to 2 feet (until the latch operation stops).
NOTE: You must open the door electrically since the latch
____ position at electrical shutoff shows if the switch is adjusted correctly.
(t) Do a check of the latches open switch adjustment.
CAUTION: USE TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR (FIG. 510) TO
_______ FIND WHEN THE ACTUATOR INTERNAL STOPS ARE TOUCHED. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 70 POUND-INCHES OF TORQUE. IF YOU USE MORE THAN 70 POUND-INCHES, YOU CAN CAUSE INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE ACTUATOR.
1) Use a torque wrench with a dial indicator to apply 25 |5 pound-inches torque to the manual drive of the latch actuator.
2) Turn the latch actuator in the counterclockwise direction. 3) Carefully count the turns remaining until the external stops are touched (open position, Fig. 510).
4) Make sure that the external stops are touched in 3 |1 turns. a) If the number of free turns remaining on the latch
actuator is not correct, adjust the latches open switch (Ref Adjustment section).
b) If you cannot get the correct number of free turns by adjustment of the latches open switch, replace the latch actuator (Ref 52-32-09/401).
