 NOTE: This is the torque tube that goes between the power

 unit and the aft gearbox.

 (d)  Engage the coupling on the torque tube with the shaft on the gearbox (Detail D).
 NOTE: Turn the gearbox shaft to align the splines.
____
 (e)  Attach the torque tube to the gearbox with two bolts through the coupling (Detail D).

 (6)  Install the torque tube that goes to the rotary actuator.
 NOTE: Do these steps for the forward or the aft gearbox.

 (a)  
Insert the end of the torque tube in the gearbox.

 (b)  
Install the torque tube on the rotary actuator as follows: 1) Make sure the splines on the torque tube align with the


 splines on the rotary actuator. 2) Turn the shaft on the rotary actuator to align the splines. 3) Keep the clearance between the rotary actuator arm and the
 downstop between 0.19 and 0.21 inch (Detail F). 4) Install the screws through the coupling and the shaft on the rotary actuator (Detail B).

 5)  Safety the screws with wire.

 (7)  
Adjust the door down switch.

 (a)  
Manually turn the power unit to set the clearance between the down stop and the rotary actuator arm (Detail F).

 (b)  
Make sure the clearance between the door down switch and the actuator arm is between 0.032 and 0.040 inch (Detail F).

 (c)  
Move the switch in the bracket if it is necessary to get this clearance.

 (d)  
Do this check for the other rotary actuator and door down switch.

 (8)  
Adjust the gearbox.

 (a)  
Use the torque wrench and adapter to turn the brake housing clockwise (Fig. 402). 1) Make sure the force that is necessary to turn the brake is

 65-75 pound-inches.

 (b)  
Do these steps if it is necessary to adjust the force: 1) Remove the lockbolt from the adjusting ring (Fig. 402). 2) Turn the adjusting ring on the brake to adjust the force.


 NOTE: Turn the ring into the brake to increase the
____ force. Turn the ring out of the brake to decrease the force.
 3)  Install the lockbolt in the adjusting ring after you get the correct force.

 (9)  
Adjust the door up switch.

 (a)  
Manually turn the power unit to get 0.20 +/- 0.01 inch clearance between the actuator arm and the upstop.

 (b)  
Move the door up switch (if it is necessary) to get 0.063 to


 0.071 inch clearance between the switch and the actuator arm.
