 (d)  
Use the steps in "Set the latch actuator in the rigged closed position" to set the latch actuator in the rigged closed position.

 (e)  
Examine the clearance between the midspan latch pin and the bottom of (Fig. 407).

 (f)  
If the clearance is not as shown in Fig. 407, adjust the latch pin vertically and horizontally until you get the correct door clearance and flushness measurements.

 CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.

 (g)  
Open the door electrically until it is opened one to two feet.

 (h)  
Set the latch actuator in the rigged open position as follows (Fig. 403):


 CAUTION: USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR TO FIND
_______ WHEN THE ACTUATOR INTERNAL STOPS ARE AGAINST EACH OTHER. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 70 POUND-INCHES OF TORQUE. IF YOU USE MORE THAN 70 POUND-INCHES, YOU CAN CAUSE INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE ACTUATOR.
 1)  Use a torque wrench with a dial indicator to manually turn the actuator in open direction (couterclockwise).
 2)  Measure the torque. When the torque increases by 15-20 pound-inches, turn the actuator 1/2 turn in the clockwise direction.
 NOTE: This is when the external stops are against each
____
 other.

 3)  Turn the torque wrench three additional turns in the clockwise direction.
 NOTE: This is the rigged open position.

 (i)  
Slowly lower the door until the door side latch cams begin to engage the body side latch pin fittings.

 (j)  
Adjust the midspan latch pushrods until you can put the pin in the center of the cam throat.


 NOTE: This can cause the misalignment of the midspan latch rig
____ pin SCD-4 holes in the rigged closed position. This condition is satisfactory.

 (4)  Adjust the guide roller (Fig. 408):
 NOTE: The shims used to control the clearances between the guide
____ roller and the forward and aft ramps must not be used to adjust the forward or aft position of the door.
 (a)  
Make sure the door is fully closed.

 (b)  
Set the clearance between the latch cam and the bearing plate as shown (Fig. 408).


 NOTE: The guide roller must not touch the two ramps.
____ Temporarily remove the ramps and shims if the guide roller touches the ramps.
 (c)  If the clearance between the forward guide roller ramp and the guide roller is not between 0.001 to 0.030 inch, adjust it as follows:
 CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
 1)  Open the door until you can remove the forward guide roller ramp, the ramp channel, and the shims from the latch fitting. Remove these parts.
