 (2)  Adjust the latch mechanism (Fig. 405):
 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE
_______ DOOR AND THE DOOR OPENING WHEN YOU OPERATE THE DOOR. FAILURE OF THE LIFT MECHANISM COULD CAUSE THE DOOR TO CLOSE QUICKLY WHICH COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.
 CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
 (a)  Open the door until you can get access.
 NOTE: You can open the door manually or electrically.

 (b)  Set the latch actuator in the rigged closed position
 (Fig. 403):

 CAUTION: USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR TO FIND
_______ WHEN THE ACTUATOR INTERNAL STOPS ARE AGAINST EACH OTHER. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 70 POUND-INCHES OF TORQUE. IF YOU USE MORE THAN 70 POUND-INCHES, YOU CAN CAUSE INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE ACTUATOR.
 1)  Use a torque wrench with a dial indicator to manually turn the actuator in the close direction (clockwise).
 2)  Measure the torque. When the torque increases by 15-20 pound-inches, turn the actuator 1/2 turn in the counterclockwise direction.
 NOTE: This is when the internal stops are against each
____
 other.

 3)  Turn the torque wrench two additional turns in the counterclockwise direction.
 NOTE: This is the rigged closed position.

 (c)  
Make sure you can install rig pins SCD-3 (Fig. 408) in the rig pin slots in all the lower latch cams.

 (d)  
Adjust the lower latch pushrods until you can install the rig pins.

 (e)  
Remove all the rig pins.

 (3)  
Adjust the midspan latch pin fittings as follows (Fig. 407):

 (a)  
Fully close the door.

 (b)  
Examine the flushness around the door (Fig. 406).

 (c)  
If the flushness is not as shown in Fig. 406, use the steps in "Adjust the hook pin fittings" to adjust the hook pins.
