MAINTENANCE MANUAL

 CAUTION:_______ TO AVOID MOTOR OVERHEAT DAMAGE, ALLOW THE LIFT
 ACTUATOR TO COOL FOR AT LEAST 1 MINUTE AFTER DOOR IS
 OPENED BEFORE CLOSING DOOR.  ALLOW LIFT ACTUATOR TO
 COOL FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES AFTER ONE COMPLETE CYCLE
 OF DOOR OPENING AND CLOSING BEFORE OPENING DOOR

 AGAIN.
 1)  Close door by placing and holding inside or outside door control switch in the CLOSE position until door is fully closed and latched. Hold switch in position for approximately 3 seconds after door is faired to allow latch cams to reach fully latched position.
 NOTE: Door motion can be stopped or reversed at any point
____ by placing control switch in OFF or OPEN positions.
 2)  Make sure the green LATCHES CLOSED light on the door operators panel comes on.
 CAUTION:_______DO NOT FORCE THE MASTER LATCH LOCK HANDLE. IF RESISTANCE IS FELT, CHECK LATCH ALIGNMENT STRIPES THROUGH VIEWING PORTS IN DOOR. LATCH CAMS NOT FULLY CLOSED COULD CAUSE THE MASTER LATCH LOCK HANDLE MECHANISM SHEAR RIVET TO SHEAR.
 3)  Raise and stow master latch lock handle in its recess and check that cargo door caution message on the upper EICAS display goes out. Check that pressure relief doors are open prior to closing handle and are closing while moving handle to closed position.
 NOTE: A visual check that pressure relief doors are closed
____ to the normal unpressurized condition (top of door up to 0.50 inch inboard of door skin) will verify that cargo door latches are closed and locked.
 4)  See that the green LATCHES CLOSED light on the door operators panel goes off.

 CAUTION:_______ DO NOT OPERATE DOOR OR LEAVE OPEN IN WINDS EXCEEDING 65 KNOTS.
 STRUCTURAL DAMAGE COULD OCCUR.
 DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS TO OPERATE ANY HOOK OR LATCH ACTUATOR.
 DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS TO OPERATE LIFT ACTUATOR IF PROHIBITED
 BY INSTRUCTIONS ADJACENT TO MANUAL DRIVE PORT.  TORQUE LIMITING
 DEVICES COULD BE BYPASSED, LEAVING POWER UNIT VULNERABLE TO
 DAMAGE.  CHECK FOR THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING POWER TOOLS.
 IF POWER TOOLS ARE PERMITTED, TOOL SPEED MUST BE LIMITED TO 500
 RPM OR LESS, AND TORQUE MUST BE LIMITED TO 70 POUND-INCHES OR

 LESS.
 (2)  
Open door manually.

 (a)  
Unlock door latches.


 1)  Push in on the master latch lock handle release trigger and check that the master latch lock handle rotates all the way down.
 2)  If the door has electrical power, make sure the green LATCHES CLOSED switch on the door operators panel comes on.
 (b)  Unlatch door. 1) Remove cover from latch actuator manual drive port.
 CAUTION: DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS TO OPERATE LATCH ACTUATOR.
_______ USE OF POWER TOOLS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE BY EXCEEDING TORQUE LIMITATIONS. MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TORQUE IS 70 POUND-INCHES. WHEN MANUALLY OPERATING POWER UNIT, STOP CONTACT IS FELT BY A SUDDEN TORQUE RISE WHICH IS NOT TO EXCEED 70 POUND-INCHES.
 2)  Insert a 1/2-inch drive speed wrench in manual drive socket and rotate counterclockwise approximately 112 turns until stops are contacted.
 3)  If the door has electrical power, see that the green LATCHES CLOSED light on the door operators panel goes off.
 (c)  Unhook door (preferred procedure). 1) Remove cover from hook actuator manual drive port.
 CAUTION: DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS TO OPERATE HOOK ACTUATOR.
_______ USE OF POWER TOOLS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE BY EXCEEDING TORQUE LIMITATIONS. MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TORQUE IS 70 POUND-INCHES. WHEN MANUALLY OPERATING POWER UNIT, STOP CONTACT IS FELT BY A SUDDEN TORQUE RISE WHICH IS NOT TO EXCEED 70 POUND-INCHES.
 2)  Insert 1/2-inch drive speed wrench in manual drive socket.
 3)  Rotate hook drive counterclockwise, until restraint arm stop is contacted. Back off 3-5 turns.
 4)  Depress and hold door restraint manual release button.
