Make sure the clearance between rollers and the bottom side of the cam is 0.10-0.14 inch (2.54-3.55 mm).
(a)
If the clearance is more than the limit, adjust the rod end on the push-pull cam actuator to get the correct clearance.
(b)
If it is necessary, add/remove laminated shims under roller support fitting to get the correct clearance.
S 225-034

Make sure the clearance between the rollers and the aft side of the cam is 0.04-0.08 inches (1.01-2.03 mm).
(a)
If it is necessary, adjust the roller support fitting to get the correct clearance.

(1) Make sure the door is closed and the distance between the door frame and body frame is 5.02 | .05 inches (127.50 | 1.27 mm).
NOTE: Make sure to keep this distance constant during the
____ adjustments of the the nose cargo door mechanisms.
S 835-037
(2) Manually crank the push-pull cam actuator until you can install the rig pin ND-4 through the cam and cam support fitting.

Portal Latch Fittings 1 thru 8 Adjustment (Fig. 503):
NOTE: The portal latch system is correctly rigged when the latch pin
____ can be manually driven to the fully latched position (approximately 150 turns) with the operating torque not more than 20 pound-inches. Use the latch fittings 5L and 5R as master latches for rigging portal latch fitting system. All other latch fittings, 1 thru 4 and 6 thru 8, left and right, are rigged using rigged positions of latches 5L and 5R as a reference. Make sure to keep the distance between the door frame and structure frame in the limit throughout the adjustment.
S 825-041
(1)
Adjust the portal latch fittings 5L and 5R as follows:
(a)
Make sure you can manually crank the latch actuators 5 L&R to fully latch the pins with the crank torque not more than 20 pound-inches.

747-400 MAINTENANCE MANUAL
Make sure the distance between the door frame and structure frame is in the limit. If the above conditions are not satisfactory, adjust the push-pull cam mechanism until you can manually latch the latches 5L & 5R with the crank torque not more than 20 pound-inches.If the adjustment of the push-pull cam mechanism does not improve the condition, adjust the portal latch fittings 5L & 5R as follows: 1) Open the door to get access to the portal latch fitting. 2) Install the rig sleeve in bearing on the door fittings. 3) Remove the latch actuator from the portal latch fitting
(AMM 52-31-05/401).
4) Loosen nuts on the attachment bolts and carefully remove the portal latch fitting to avoid damage to the bolt protective coating.
5) Remove shims from the serrated plates. 6) Temporary install the portal latch fitting with serrated plates. 7) Close the door and make sure the distance between the door frame and body frame is 5.02 inches.
